leslie - i'm really surprised there is only 1 since there are lots of blooms. Maybe I should have read up on how to hand-pollinate?

catsynth - this is the only time I've ever tried to grow these. I ordered seeds from Botanical Interests, soaked them overnight then started them in a coconut fiber pellet. It took a really long time to germinate but other than that, it was easy. Thanks for stopping by!
Wow, that is very cool! I was just researching these and wondering if I could grow them in South Dakota. I'm guessing that if you can grow them in Chicago, then I should be fine.
Hi! The loufa grows very well here in Oklahoma. Been growing them for years and never had a bad season. The vines go everywhere and prety much take over the fence, but make big yellow flowers and hefty loufas in all that direct sun.
One is better than none! I've never grown them. How do you know when it's ready to harvest?
