What's Cookin?

Who says vegetarians can't get their holiday barbecue on?Boca burgers, veggie hot dogs, veggie Italian sausage all smothered with bbq sauce and Cajun grilled potato wedges.

Hope everyone had a safe and delicious Memorial Day. We sure did!

  1. I saw this post before reading the vegetarian part and started cringing! I can barely go outside with the disgusting meat barbecuing...

  2. Seriously? Smelling other people's meat grilling in their yards bothers Tanner that much? It just makes me hungry, but I'm a big time fan of grilled meat!

Your spread looks delicious. We had my husband's famous corn salad and my yummy potato salad (mustard-based dressing instead of mayo) in addition to our burgers and hot dogs, so you would have had something to eat! And we always throw veggie burgers on the grill when we have vegetarian guests.

I guess Tanner wouldn't eat dinner with us though since we'd have our smelly meat grilling, lol.

  3. yea lol! I think that like everyone else in our neighborhood was grilling so it was smell o' rama!

Did you end up shortening the height of the pergola like you wanted? I want one in my backyard now! lol!

  5. While I'm not a vegetarian, I LOVE Morningstar Farms Spicy Black Bean Burgers. I usually cut it up and put it on my salad with a little salsa for dressing and a sprinkle of shredded mexican blend cheese (okay, a very healthy sprinkle). The guys at work thought I was nuts because I ate it for lunch every day for about 2 weeks straight!

  6. I didn't know you were a vegetarian!

We've just decided to go that way as well. Glad to know there are non-meat BBQ options!

  7. I LOVE veggie dogs! I took some to a BBQ yesterday and my friend who actually eats meat loved them. I told her that over the years the texture has gotten better. I remember when I first became a vegetarian the veggie dogs tasted like hotdog flavored jell-o.

  8. I have to admit, as a meat-loving individual, that even this veggie-filled grill looks delicious. But where are the roasted peppers to go with it? Or the pies, for that matter?
