Giveaway: Troy-bilt Reel Mower and Hand Tools

You can't get more environmentally friendly than a reel mower when it comes to cutting grass, right?

This morning a person I'm connected with on Facebook posted that she was sure her neighbors were going to hate her because she was about to cut her grass at 8:00 am. I have a battery powered electric mower that's pretty darn quiet but my neighbor uses a reel mower which makes zero noise with zero emissions. I love these mowers for their retro look and earth friendliness so I'm super excited to be able to give one away this week. Being able to give readers a chance to get free gardening equipment is one of my favorite parts of my partnership with Troy-bilt.

This is an 18 inch reel mower with height adjustment and rear bagging donated by Troy-bilt. The contest winner will work directly with Troy-bilt to coordinate free shipping to your house. The contest winner will also receive three of Troy-bilt's new hand tools including a hand trowel, a weeding blade and professional bypass pruners.

To enter the contest, just leave a comment telling us why you need this mower and I'll select a winner at random after the contest closes on Friday July 13th at 5:00 pm CST.

Good luck!

  2. This sounds great, Gina. While zero emissions may be the reason I should like it, the idea of a quiet mower makes me sure that I need it!

  7. This mower would be a great way to have my little ones get in on the process. It would also be a step towards me using something more earth friendly.

  10. Oh, I NEED this. As a bartender who on occasion doesn't get off until 5 am, it would be nice to be able to mow when I'm still full of energy!

  12. Found your blog today through You Grow Girl. Newbie to gardening (just picked my first ever homegrown tomato yesterday!) The reason I'm new at this is because I just made the decision to go Green. Having this mower would mean that I could take another step towards self reliance by letting my lawn service go and taking care of the front yard myself in the most earth friendly way.

  13. This would be a great addition to our small but growing homestead. It would help us to teach our children, who are home-schooled, to not rely on non-renewable resources and help to take care of our planet.

    1. HI,
Hand tools are very useful product. Woodworkers use lots of hand tools and give best products. To use any tool you have to get a lot of control on that tool to use it in a perfect way and then the best result will come out.
