Help Me Identify This Plant

This is a plant that volunteered in my garden this year.  The stem is huge, maybe 1.5 inches wide.  The plant is over 3 feet tall now.

A few people have suggested that it could be the herb Lovage but Lovage leaves supposedly smell like celery, and these don't.

    I'm guessing it's:
    "Seri"(Japanese Parsley) Botanical Name/Family : Oenanthe stolonifera/Apiaceae(Umbelliferae)

    Does it have a medicinal smell to it?

    or it could be Oenanthe javanica.

    It could be Angelica, as you said... look at the photos on my blog about her to help with the identification... could you take more pictures... it would help to see more angles and aspects...
    is the stem hollow?
