First Certified Organic Rooftop Farm
Today I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the first certified organic rooftop farm in the country.
Uncommon Ground in Chicago's Edgewater community is a really cool restaurant run by this really cook chick named Helen Cameron, seen in this video describing how she went about installing her rooftop farm atop her restaurant.
I hope this is a trend we'll see much more of in the coming years. What an inspiration.

It was fantastic to be there at this historic, inspiring event and see all the owners and staff of Uncommon Ground have accomplished. What a great day for them and for Chicago, and how great for us to be there!
Not surprised that Chicago is first!
Both times that I've been there I wished I had a flat roof where I could do some more gardening.
I've heard about this garden, and I think that's awesome you went to this. I wish I had thought of it!
Way to go Chicago! Thanks for an interesting update on rooftop gardening. Nice blog, by the way. -Jackie
Am glad to note this. Wishes.
How could I start one at my place. KARNAL near Delhi in India. Please guide.
What pre-palanning has to be done. We have all the required materials including manure. And a will.
