Garbage Can Potatoes

Here's my first attempt at video blogging. I shot this with my new iPhone 3Gs (in stores now!).

This is the second year I've tried to grow potatoes in these garbage cans. The first year was a bust but these are looking pretty fabulous!

  2. awesome video on that phone. I can't wait to get mine sometime this week!

Great idea for people who live in apartments. Right now, all I have is an herb garden going.

  3. Wow, that's a great quality video from a phone! I also love the idea of planting potatoes in a garbage can. Will try it next year. Where did you get the seed potatoes?

  5. Oh, you totally suck! Not only are you growing potatoes, which I was suppose to do this year, but the quality of that video makes me want as stupid iPhone.

    Ugh!

  6. Cool! I have always wanted to try this, ever since I read about it in a newspaper article about 10 years ago. Never got around to it, but I'm going to try it next year for sure. Please keep us updated and show us another video when you harvest! And I agree with you -- if I could have only one thing to eat the rest of my life, it would be potatoes.

  7. Very cool Gina! I've never tried growing potatoes, but this method seems so easy, it makes me want to give it a try.

  8. When did you start your potatoes? I have several trash cans that I purchased and some seed potatoes that I fully intended to plant but could find the time. I am tempted to get them going even though it may be too late. Also, I am posting your how to video on my blog :-)
