Renegade Green Beans

When I went to check my seeds I found these green beans trying to bust out of the plastic wrap. Man oh man these things will never make it indoors long enough for it to warm up outside.

With breathing room. See how close they are to the light? This picture is taken tonight at around 7:30. I'm betting by 8:00 am tomorrow morning they'll be touching the light.
What a pickle I've gotten myself into!

  1. Are they bush beans? If so, you can keep putting them into bigger and bigger pots to try and hold them off until you can get them in the garden. Maybe you just started a container garden! :)

  2. Yes, that is a bit of a pickle. But that's how we learn, by doing. Next year (or maybe your next attempt this year), plant the beans directly in the garden after danger of frost has passed. Or if you are intent on starting your bean seeds early, start them only 2 or 3 weeks before your last frost.

  3. tyler - yes they are bush beans. I'll keep repotting them as long as I can. This should be interesting.

carol - I'm definately going to plan some right in the ground after frost. I still have plenty left. these will probably end up in the compost pile. ps GO BULLS! I can't believe we finally won one!

  4. Gina... Yes, I was there to watch your Bulls beat my Pacers. But really, not much thrill for the Bulls or disappointment for the Pacers. Both teams are struggling and doing far worse this season than anyone imagined. Pacers are 14games below .500 now. P-a-t-h-e-t-i-c.
